Wanda, I am researching the Charles McDowell Paxton line for my wife. We recently made a trip to NC and talked with some people, but didn't get any significantly different information. I am also researching Pharr, Sharpe, Stiles, Hembree. Have you heard any more about the book that Frank Paxton was to publish? I am interested in finding out more about the ancestors of Charles McDowell Paxton, and where they came from - and how they arrived in NC. Hope your computer troubles are over. I haven't heard an update recently on the Frank Paxton book. The last time I spoke with the editor, it was still in the editing process. As soon as I hear something, I will post it to the list. Hi Wanda, I thought I had sent this to one "Willie", but maybe it was another. Charles McDowell Paxton was the son of William Paxton and Sarah Grace McDowell. His father was William Paxton of Rockbridge co.,Va. He went to N.C. to aid his brothtile business there. If more info is needed, I have it.
