From: ........"historical sketch of our family." written by Andrew Hart Paxton with an ..."addition.....written by James Paxton (a brother of Andrew H. Paxton) at Savannah, Ohio in June, 1871. (I have the original hand written pages.) James Paxton added a few pages about his brother, Andrew H. Paxton in the "addition" of 1871. XX "He (Andrew H. Paxton) was one of the early pioneers in the anti Slavery cause, having been chosen secretary of the first anti Slavery Society ever formed in Savannah. I have often heard him speak with regret that the constitution and records of the society were lost, (word unreadable here) as the principals ennciated (spelling unclear here) and advocated at that early period have since been fully vindicated. He would have been glad to have had those records handed down to posterity." XXI "From the commencement of the great Rebellion, he had an abiding faith that in the end this great sin against God and man would be wiped out." I would be interested in any other names of people who participated in the anti-Slavery Society in Savannah, Ohio. Sue
