Mr. Paxton was born in Polk County on Aug.12,1925. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War ll and a self-employed insurance agent. Survivors include: his wife, Velma Wells Paxton of Felton; son, James Paxton of Belleair Beach, Fla.; sister, Eddie Howard of Cedartown; brother, Stratton Paxton of Cartersville; and a grandchild. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 22, from the felton Independent Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Mobbs, Rev. Clifford Chandler and Mr. Danny Hutcheson officiating. Entombment followed in the Polk Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
