Officiating will be Rev. Vernon K. Tandberg, Jr. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Paxton died Monday, August 7, 2000 in Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness. He was born in Simpson, LA and was a resident of Shreveport for 50 years. Mr. Paxton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shreveport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Paxton; and his parents. Mr. Paxton is survived by a son, James Irwin Paxton of Denver, CO; and daughters, Peggy Paxton of Shreveport, LA and Susan Paxton Lindsey and husband, Richard of Denver, CO. Pallbearers will be James Irwin Paxton, Ronald S. Harper, Jr., Jesse Hardy, Andy Sibley, Alberto Garcia and Doyle Phillips. Memorials may be made to the American Lung and Heart Association.
