Paxton August 27, 2000 Midland (MI) Daily News Blanche M. Paxton, 77, of Clare died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at St Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. The daughter of the late Robert & Florence (Rydman) Childs was born August 27, 1922, in North Bradley. Blanche graduated from Coleman High School in 1941 and attended Central Michigan University obtaining a teaching certificate. On June 14, 1947, she married James Paxton in Elizabeth City, N. Carolina. Blanche taught school in the Coleman area in her early years and later drove bus for the Clare School District. She obtained her Realtor license and later her cosmetology license and worked in her respective fields for many years. She had also worked for the Midland Hospital Center as a cook. Blanche was an avid baker and enjoyed nature. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Coleman. Survived by her husband, James Paxton of Clare; daughter Deborah Paxton of Midland; grandchild Jesse Paxton of Gladwin; brothers Allen (Betty Jane) Childs of Garden City, Vernell (Minnie) Childs of Coleman; sisters Sharon (Wayne) Moyer of North Bradley, Betty (Gil) Gatten of Dearborn. Predeceased by one son, Brock Paxton; daughters Darolyn, Vanita and baby Paxton. Funeral services for Mrs Paxton will be conducted at noon on Monday, Aug. 28, 2000 from the Faith United Methodist Church, 310 N. Fifth St., Coleman. The Reverends Dave Koski and Gordon Rydman will officiate, with internment in North Bradley Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 am until the time of service.
