    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Paxton, John & Nancey Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YZ5.2ACIB/993 Message Board Post: Still looking for John & Nancey's Parents. I did find recently two family's living near them in Iowa in 1860. Thomas Greenlee Paxton lived in Chequest township and John and Nancey lived in Washingtion township, VanBuren County, Iowa. Found alot of information on Thomas's family, but they are from VA. Census records tell me John's Parents are from PA. Found another family, James & Polly Paxton in Henry County, Iowa. This is also close, James and Polly's family came from PA, but I can find little or no information on them. I also just discoved John and Nancey's Home burned to the ground in September 1859 in Washingtion township, Van Buren County, Iowa which could be the reason why I have found it so difficult to find anything on their parents. If anyone sees a connection with this information - please contact me. I think they are living too close to each other, not to be connected in some way.

She was born on June 21, 1947 in Salt Lake City to Joseph and Jean Pass. She married Gail Paxton and had five children; later divorced. She fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher and at the age of 46, graduated from Westminster College with degrees in English and art. She was also one of the driving forces behind the publication of the book, "Our Gift of Lov! e, Personal Stories of Breast Cancer Courage," which she co-authored. Among other awards, she was recently honored at a luncheon for "Speaking of Women's Health." A beautiful bench, surrounded by pink tulips now resides in Red Butte Garden in honor of all who have been touched by breast cancer. Karen was instrumental in establishing this memorial. 3. Hello listers....I received this notice on another mailing list and thought it might be of interest to those on the Paxton-L. The author of this book, Philip Sonnichsen is a member of our Paxton-L and has done excellent research on his Paxton family. ----------------------------------- HIGGINSON BOOK COMPANY 148 WASHINGTON STREET PO BOX 778 SALEM MA 01970 978/745-7170 FAX: 978/745-8025 Higginsn@cove.com ANNOUNCING THE PUBLICATION OF A Family History of Charles Leland Sonnichsen and Augusta Pauline (Jones) Sonnichsen/Schwidetzky. Compiled and Written by Philip Sonnichsen. Higginson Book Company is pleased to announce the publication of A Family History of Charles Leland Sonnichsen and Augusta Pauline (Jones) Sonnichsen/ Schwidetzky written by Philip Sonnichsen. Every member of the Sonnichsen/Schwidetzky and allied families who is interested in history and their family heritage will want to have a copy of A Family History of Charles Leland Sonnichsen and Augusta Pauline (Jones) Sonnichsen/ Schwidetzky. This fully illustrated genealogy traces the lines of the family from the arrival of Momme Melf and Jette Caroline (Detlefsen) Sonnichsen aboard the Deutschland on October 25, 1866 at Castle Garden, New York. Data is presented through a descending ancestral chart with explanatory narratives, and includes allied families of Adair, Bonnell, Burwell, Clifton, Glover, Gunn, Hults [Hulse/Hultz], Paxton, Qualtrough, and more. By way of demonstrating the thoroughness of Sonnichsen's presentation, the Adair line begins with Robert FitzGerald de Adair, b. ca 1366 in Limerick, Ireland and follows the lineage through the arrival of Thomas Adair from Antrim into Pennsylvania and his three sons: James, Joseph, and William. The Cliftons trace their heritage to the immigrant Thomas Clifton who migrated into Barbados in the 1650s; the Hulses through Richard Hulse who settled on eastern Long Island before 1670; and the Paxtons from James (b. 1640) and his son Samuel, who initially settled in the Marsh Creek Valley of Lancaster, PA. Of the various lines which have emerged from Samuel's 22 children, Sonnichsen's is the most comprehensive treatment of the "South and Southwest Paxtons" (Descendants of Benjamin and Frances [Lofton] Paxton). A Family History of Charles Leland Sonnichsen and Augusta Pauline (Jones) Sonnichsen/Schwidetzky is a 204-page book, and is available from Higginson Book Company for $34.00 each softcover and $46.00 each deluxe hardcover plus $4.95/shipping.
