    1. Lubin Paxton Divorce record Ma.
    2. I have not posted to the list for a while. I know have some new information about Lubin Paxton he was divorced from my great grandmother Mary Ellen Flemming of Watertown Ma. The divorce took place in Boston Ma.1921. He was also known as Louis P. Paxton know of New York City, State of New York. They had lived together as Husband and Wife in Watertown and Boston Ma. Lubin had been in the Navy when they married in Boston Ma. in 1909 . The divorce record "that the libelant has always been faithful to her marriage vows and obligations but the said Lubin P. Paxton being wholly regardless of the same at Boston, New York City and Portland Maine". I have checked city directories for New York City but have not been able to find Lubin or Louis Paxton he may have still been in the Navy. Mary and Lubin as far as I know had one son Albert who is not mentioned in the divorce records Mary remarried in 1922 and Albert for someone known reason was adopted by his stepfather but not until he was a legal adult and I cannot get the adoption record since in Ma. all adoptions are closed no matter how old the person is. If this sounds familiar to anyone could you please let me know I do not know if Lubin remarried or what be came of him and would very much like to find out I am also looking for a place of birth for him. Thank you Aine

    3. Hello, I've been on the list before, but it's been a while, as I've been researching other lines. My "most wanted" Paxton is also a dead-end for me. Samuel Paxton, born about 1804-ish, married Amy Wilcox in Franklin Co. OH 11 Sept. 1823. Samuel died 1 Sept. 1849 in Franklin Co. OH, leaving Amy with a large brood of children to raise. Their son Robert (1830-1907) is my gg grandfather. Have been trying to discover who his parents were for more years than I care to think about, with no success. Samuel & Amy's wedding application mention that his father was dead, his mother gave approval for the marriage, but unfortunately failed to say who his parents were. Amy's father is listed in her part of the application. Alice Allen

He was the son of William Sanford Paxton who was the son of John (J.) Paxton born on 9/4/1827 and died 6/7/1855. My uncle was John McLeod Paxton Jr. born 1/3/1916 and died 12/3/1985. My name is Isabel Tuell Coburn, not "Isabel PaxtonMorgan TuellCoburn" as it appears in list headers. I am, however, interested in solving the mystery of the parents and ancestry of Nancy PAXTON, first wife of Zackquill MORGAN of West Virginia, married ca 1759, had three daughters and died before 1765 when he remarried. If anyone can provide the answers, I'd be grateful to hear from you. Isabel

    3. It is believed that Mary Paxton who m. Robert Divine is not a daughter of William Paxton , but a neice. I have had great difficulty in following and figuring out where the direct lines are. Thomas Selman PAXTON, born in 1830 and who lived and died (1908) in Washington, D.C. (Tenelytown). He was probably born in Frederick County, Maryland where the 1790 County census shows a Thomas who might be his father. Nathaniel and William PAXTON close in age to Thomas and who later lived in Tenelytown were also shown in that census and may be his brothers. Thomas Selman PAXTON was married first to Sarah RILEY born in 1827 and died in 1862 in Washington, D.C. In the 1850 Washington DC Census Mary(Paxton) and Robert Divine are living with Thomas Selman Paxton Family in Tenelytown. On Grant Street there are 3 row houses, wood frame, that are very similar in contruction that Thomas Paxton built, and family lived in. There is a house at the corner of Grant , 37th, Abermarle, and Wisconcin Ave. that I believe to be the Curran House. It has a big porch extending back into Grant St. There is another little frame house set back further on Grant St. that may have been Mahlon Curran's house. We know he lived right around the corner. In the 1910 census his name is reversed. marriages Joseph Paxson = Mary Lusty 20 July 1797 Thomas Paxton = Elizabeth Miller 22 Dec. 1799 William Paxton = Ruth Sellman 23 July 1802 Thomas S.
