Does anyone have any information on a Joseph Paxton born abt 1801 At Virginia married Sarah Terry April 28, 1831 at Nicholas Co, Virginia? This Joseph may be the same Joseph that later married Lavica Bowers at Carter Co, Tn, in 1837. Linda Paxton
Hi folks, You may have noticed the list has been "quiet" lately. Rootsweb has been having major problems with the server that supports our Paxton-L. It was completely down for awhile and now is limping along, occasionally sending out any notes that were sent through while the system was down. You will probably notice that some of the posts that came through recently were dated a week or so ago. This may continue for awhile until they get the problem completely resolved. Now...on to a topic I KNOW is important to most people on this list - the status of the publication of the late Frank Paxton's long awaited book, "The Paxtons: An American Story". I just received an email from Mrs. Paxton. They are in the process of doing final proofing. They still do not have an estimated date of publication. For the past couple of years I have been compiling a list of those interested in purchasing the book. If you have notified me of your interest, you can rest assured I still have your name on the list. For anyone who has not already notified me of your interest, you may send me an e-mail if you wish to be on the list. Once the book is available, I will be notifying everyone, including sending out a message to the subscribers of the Paxton-L. I would like to take this time to thank everyone on the list for their participation in sharing Paxton information on the Paxton-L. I hope everyone has a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving! I have no idea when this message will reach the list subscribers. There has been a major problem for the past week or two with the Rootsweb server our mailing list resides upon. It is my understanding they are starting to release some of the backed up notes gradually, so you may start to see a trickle of "old notes". Hopefully this will be resolved soon. In the meantime, please join me in welcoming a new member to our list: Stokesmccune@aol.com We hope you will introduce yourself and tell us about the family you are researching!
