By any chance do you have a stray Joseph Paxton running around in your bunch ? I am having a hard time tracking down this Joseph and who he came from. His wife was Lavica Bowers and they were married in or around Carter Co, Tn. Joseph's mother was said to have been native American. One census for Worth Co, Mo says he was born in 1801 at Va. Another says he was born at 1801 Tn. ......................Linda Paxton http://www.geocities.com/lindapaxton/ -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Monday, November 08, 1999 11:29 PM Subject: Fwd: [PAXTON-L] Hugh Paxton > >--part1_0.29925891.25590af1_boundary >Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" >Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > > > >--part1_0.29925891.25590af1_boundary >Content-Type: message/rfc822 >Content-Disposition: inline > >Return-Path: <[email protected]> >Received: from rly-yc05.mx.aol.com (rly-yc05.mail.aol.com [172.18.149.37]) > by air-yc03.mail.aol.com (v62.15) with ESMTP; Mon, 08 Nov 1999 > 23:33:09 -0500 >Received: from bl-14.rootsweb.com (bl-14.rootsweb.com [204.212.38.30]) by > rly-yc05.mx.aol.com (v62.10) with ESMTP; Mon, 08 Nov 1999 23:32:43 > -0500 >Received: (from [email protected]) > by bl-14.rootsweb.com (8.9.3/8.9.3) id UAA20326; > Mon, 8 Nov 1999 20:31:29 -0800 (PST) >Resent-Date: Mon, 8 Nov 1999 20:31:29 -0800 (PST) >From: [email protected] >Message-ID: <[email protected]> >Date: Mon, 8 Nov 1999 23:30:52 EST >Subject: Re: [PAXTON-L] Hugh Paxton >Old-To: [email protected] >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" >Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit >X-Mailer: AOL 4.0 for Windows 95 sub 10 >Resent-Message-ID: <[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Resent-From: [email protected] >Reply-To: [email protected] >X-Mailing-List: <[email protected]> archive/latest/1081 >X-Loop: [email protected] >Precedence: list >Resent-Sender: [email protected] > >Hi,Thank you for all the inforation. Dear Jean, The information I have has Joseph dying in Sydenham. Since that's where he moved the Crystal Palace and moved himself, it's probably so. I understand Sydenham is somewhere outside London. Sincerely, Sherry

I am trying to find the parents & siblings of Elizabeth PAXTON , born in 1827 in Ohio. She married Samuel Le PAGE on Dec. 17, 1846 in Muskingum Co., Ohio. Samuel was born on the Guernsey Isle ( Channel Islands ) in 1821. I know they were still living in Muskingum Co., Ohio as late as Sept. , 1863 . Don't know if they were alive after that. Thank you for your help. Brenda Magee [email protected]
My husbands great grandfather was Thomas P. Paxton married to Sarah Berryman Monroe. He died in 1883. I'm wondering if he ties into your line. He lived in Kentucky and I believe he migrated there from Va. Jane Board
The Paxton book calls this a "lost Paxton" but records the marriage as taking place in Rockbridge County 4-5-1798 by the Rev. Samuel Houston. A marriage between Hannah Paxton and John Moore also is recorded on Oct. 6, 1997 by Rev. John Young.
