Came from Sussex NJ 2nd gen. in PA same area son Samuel b. unknown) who married Margaret Walter daughter of Henry and Catherine Walter came to Newton abt. 1832. 3rd generation in Newton PA Levi Coon b. June 29, 1834 d. Apr 22 1904 m. Nov. 23, 1831 to Eliza Hopkins dau. of Solomon ( b. Feb. 8 1808 d.. Aug. 15, 1884) and Maria (Storrs) Hopkins (b. Jan 7 1808- d. May 26, 1870)(Had Everett Grant Coon etc.) John Coon moved to Vir. 1853 and moved back 9 years later after the death of his wifeRosanna Cosner from Newton, PA (had Son George Levi) No reason to live in Virginia Generation 3 My husband’s side Everett Coon , Galusha Coon, and Eva M. Coon from George and Eliza Coon My side George Levi Coon married Margaret Smith of Fall, Pa oldest dau. of Thomas and Elizabeth Shelley Smith (This is my side of the family through Thomas and Margaret Shelley Smith Margaret was a sister to Laura Smith who married Howard Decker.) Generation 4 Everett Coon had 5 daughters by first wife Minnie Lasher Daughter of Arnold and Margaret VanWhy Lasher. Lasher fromSusex NJ Oscar D. Coon son of married Lillian G. Decker daughter of Charles V. anmd Margaret Klipple Decker. No relation that any one could recall to Howard Decker. The families tried that years ago. Any one know where the rest of Joseph Coon family went? We could use more on the Lasher family. The Decker could tie into someone with William, Howard , or Andrew who I know are related. Locally at the same time we had Phoebe and Amzi Decker and a first settler H.S. Decker . Sorry I am not good at this. The names could be related to so many of you. Some of the Deckers could have gone to Ohio or elsewhere.
