The first generation of the Farr family in America was Thomas Farr, born in 1621. they settled in Vermont, Johas Farr of the sexth Generation born March 12, 1769, came from Vermont to Homer Village, NY thence to Lynn, Susquehanna Co. Pa. He married Parney Barros and their children were Esther, Benjamin, Jonathan, Jason, Sewell, Othniel, Hannah, Clarissa, and Abner Kneeland. After Jonas death in 1814 at Lynn, Parney came to "Cold Spring" Nimble, Pennsylvania where she lived with a son until her death in 1850. age 78. Benjamin Farr the eldest son of Jonas and Parney Farr bron March 1, 1794, was the 7th generation and the first to settle in Farr Hollow in 1816. he married Desire Smalley and had 8 children. It is believed several of the Farr families lived in this area at one time. Kneeland married Betsy DeWold, and Jonathan , Sarah Clapp. There is a land grant that states Othniel Farr, married Naomi Clapp, purchased land from Cyrus and Edward Clapp along the "Town Line Road" April 25, 1848. One time at a party the people urged Kneeland and Jonathan to wrestle, During the even Jonathan was thrown down and died of a broken neck. Myron R Farr son of Benjam and Desire Smalley farr was born December 29, 1825, He married Esther Robinson dau of William Riley Robinson, Children Lyza, Sylvia, Catherine, Esther, Ellen, Cynthia, and Curtis L Farr. Curtis was born October 16, 1859, died May 12, 1929. Married Myrtle Lott on September 19, 1889, Children Tracey Riley Farr born June 17, 1894, died March 10 1977. Myron Lewis Farr born Feb 22, 1892, died Augustd 16, 1955, a baby girl died Dec 14 1890, RTracy married Carrie Saylor. They had 2 sons Franklin and Harold. Myron married Clara Miner, daughter of Addison and Jessie Sands Miner, they had one daughter Dorothy who married Reginal Furman. Myron L Farr was the last of the family to farm on live on the Farr farm.
