Golden Hill is located in the Northwestern part of Windham Twp between Rock Hill and the Bradford County line. About 1844 Hiram W Keeney and Myron Sturdevant were the pioneers in the Golden Hill District where they spent their lives. J William Furman and Ella Jones of New Era where married dec 29 1884 and moved ffrom Bradford County to Golden Hill first living in the Woodruff house near the Sturdevant farm. Later the Furmans lived in the Owens house on the Salsman road then in 1900 they bought a farm from Sarah Brown where they loved until their deaths. TheFurmans had four sons Crayton Who married Grace Milheim built a home in the field below the Furman homestead in 1912. On February 10, 1914 the fouse burned to the ground causing the death of two children Carl 3 and Leo one .
