    3. Dear Seneca, Whoever you are: My line is the Estell line found in Braintrim first, then Windham, then Mehoopany. In locating land Andrew King Estell lived on in Bowman`s Hollow, Ann Adams took us there for her ancester Joseph Vaow purchased Andrew`s land in 1842. Ann`s husband was Francis M. Adams who passed away December 16, 1986. They lived in Roger`s Hollow, but she has sold her place and lives in Tunkhannock. Your tax list for 1819 was good. The Rogers family is well represented. Andrew King Estell`s wife was Artemesia Rogers, daughter of Josiah Rogers. He was the nephew of Josiah Rogers whose wife was killed in the Wyoming Massacre, I think without checking right now. Josiah Rogers came to Windham in 1808 from Canterbury, CT. Ebenezer Harris came about the same time also, and it is a possibility that Ebenezer`s sister Ruth Harris was Josiah Roger`s wife. Harold Craig, Montrose, is looking for proof of this. Any help out there? Rogers genealogy can be found in the Historical Society at Tunkhannock, what info is known. A number of the families have been located and more information is available than is in the"book" written in the 1970`s. If any of the above info is of help to anyone out there, more can be sent. The Wyoming Historical Society at Tunkhannock has MUCH info and is adding to this constantly. They are very helpful there is assisting you. Helen Estelle Hull, Box 275, Interlaken, NY Josiah`s and Ruth`s children were: Mary (Polly) Rogers who married Timothy Alworth who was on the 1819 tax list; Theeda Emma Rogers who married 17 August 1828 Henry Humphrey - More info needed on Henry Humphrey; Lucy Rogers married Philip R Arms, also on the 1819 tax list; Ruby Rogers married Christopher Miller - (alot of info on both Lucy and Ruby`s families, both on the 1819 tax list.); Gustavus Adolphus Rogers married Martha Humphrey (called Polly) -again more info needed on the Humprheys; Artimesia Rogers married Andrew King Estell, (my line, so have a lot of info); Ruth Rogers who married James Harris who possibly is the son of Ebenezer Harris. Harold Craig has lots of info on the Harrises; Albagence G Rogers who apparently didn`t marry. A deed was found when Josiah sold him land. This land bordered G Adolphus`s land. Gilbert Gay, also on the 1819 tax list, married Andrew K. Estell`s sister Lucinda . They moved before 1830 to Franklin, Bradford Co. Have a lot of info on them. Think that Gilbert Gay and David Estell were on the 1819 tax list for Eaton Twp. Andrew Estell`s brother David Estell married Amy and had 4 or 5 sons. He taught school on Union Hill and could possibly have been a minister there also. I believe John Estell, found on the 1800 Kingston Federal census was the father of David, Lucinda and Andrew King Estell. More information is needed on this John Estell. I believe he came from Morris Co, NJ and could possibly have been in the Revolution when the troops were in the Kingston/Wyoming area. From family information, his wife may have been an Indian. Help needed here. Both Andrew and Lucinda were married by Asa Steven, Jr in Scottsville. David Estell died in 1829. Later Amy, his widow, sold land to Henry Jackson from Auburn, NY and moved north of the river. What Amy`s maiden name is, is unknown. Two of the children had Jackson for a middle name. Back to Adams: Marriage Records kept by Rev John Miller, p 200 ( think it was Horace Hayden`s book), gives May 4, 1856, Orlando P. Wall to Mary L Adams, both of Abington. This section, sorry I don`t have the title of the book, gives the problem of not finding Marriage, death and birth records in Wyoming Section of PA, 1797-1810. Allegra Sturdevant has her mother`s records (Gay family) and she had 3 typed sheets of marriages performed by Asa Stevens, Jr,Esq. Copies of these can be found at the Wyoming Historical Society in Tunkhannock. On this list is 10 Oct 1826, Gilbert Adams to Miss Sally Thap(?Thorp).
