The early settler Henry Chanpion married Hannah Robinson, dau of Capt Jared Robinson, of the Rev War days. Their son Chandler Champion married Abigail Fassett dau of Jasper and Margaret Garey Fassett. Abigail champion died in 1835 leaving a son Charles champion. Chandler Champion then married Suvanah Knuppenburd. By this marriage there were 6 children: 4 boys and 2 girls, John F Champion one of the boys was born in the log house on the Sharpe farm near the house were owen Henning lives. John Champion married Catherine Holland in 1872 and built the house on Golden Hill in 1873. Their children were James, Fred, George, Ernest, Blanche and Eliza. As with many other families in those days typhoid fever took the life of Eliza when she was 3 years old, three weeks later George was also taken at the age of 17. With Ernest dying several years later from the results of the same thing. James Champion married and moved to Athens, where he spent his life time. Fred Champion married Phoebe Webber. they spent their lives on the lower part of Golden Hill Blance Champion married Newton Finney, they spent most of their lives on the Champion homestead,.after the death of her parents. Johna dn Catherine Champion died the same night, October 22, 1922. A double funeral was held in Golden Hill Church, buried North Flatt Cem. the Champion home has changed hands several times since the Finneys have lived there
