W. Wugene Hughes, M D> was son of William M Hughes of Hazleton was born in Columbia Pa. Dec 28 1856. He was educated at the Hazleton High School, and the State Normal School of Bloomsburg, Pa in Aug 1875 he commenced the study of medicine with Dr Casselbury, of Hazleton In October 1876 he entered the Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia from which he graduated in March 1878 After practicing a few months at Conyngham and Jenningsville. He located at Lacyville in Nov 1879
