    1. [PAWYOMIN-L] Jos Elliott monument location?
    2. Alyce Elliott
    3. Hi everyone! I'm hoping one of you has information that will help in a particular quest: This weekend my husband and son will be driving respectively from northern NY and southern PA to Bradford and Wyoming Counties to look for the Joseph Elliott Monument which can be seen at Ginny Magee's website: JOSEPH ELLIOTT MONUMENT http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/5958/jemonument.html Ginny also has further information about Capt. Jos Elliott in the Revolutionary War section at her site. Joseph Elliott was my husband's gggrandfather. My husband saw the monument when he was a child, on the same day that they visited relatives at a farm in Merryall, PA, (Bradford Co.) and remembers that it was placed along the road, high above the Susquehanna River, overlooking the river valley. (The photo above was taken at this time.) This memory, as well as the info on the monument leads us to believe that it must be in Bradford or Wyoming Co, but a phone call to the area brought no info as to its location or present existence. It appears to be a sizable monument, and seemingly not easily misplaced. :-) If you can shed any light at all on our mystery, or give further advice, please do so. No suggestion is too small. :-) I'm on Digest, so if you reply to the list, please copy me privately. Best regards to all, Alyce Thompson Elliott The North Country NY [email protected] PS If you are by any chance related....get in touch! Let's exchange gen info. (CC) Posting msg. to: Bradford, Wyoming, Susquehanna, & Luzerne Counties, and Pennsylvania-L and Elliott-L.
