Hello Everyone, Can anyone tell me who the parents of Levi Townsend were? This is what I know about Levi: He was probably born no later than 1750. He arrived in Wyoming County (which at that time was Luzerne County) as early as 13 Mar 1795 (because on that date, Levy and Rebecca Townsend bought 100 acres of land from Benjamin Jones). He came to Wyoming County from Dutchess County, NY, after staying for a time in Sussex County, NJ. Levi died in Falls Township, Luzerne County, between 19 Feb 1827 when his will was dated and 13 Feb 1834 when his will was proved. He was married to Rebecca Jones, daughter of Benjamin Jones Sr. and Jemimah Delevan. Rebecca and her family were from Exeter, Luzerne County. They had, at least, these children named in his will: sons Benjamin and Peter, daughters Sarah (married name Jones), Rhoda (married name Kinyon), Minerva (married name Daily or Daley), Rebecca (married name Sterling) Susannah (married name Morgan), sons Charles and Zephaniah (who were both deceased before the will was written in 1827) and sons Levi and Consider, with Consider named as executor. Levi and his family appear on the following Census lists: 1800 Exeter Township, Luzerne County 1810 Exeter Township, Luzerne County 1820 Falls Township, Luzerne County 1830 Falls Township, Luzerne County Levi was closely related, either by blood or friendship, to Gilbert Townsend who also moved from Dutchess County to Luzerne (now Wyoming) County. Gilbert married Elizabeth Colwell, daughter of Joseph, and had at least one son, Joseph. Any help or suggestions for research sources you can give me will be very much appreciated. Liz
