    3. I did not find this surname associated with Wyoming County in the 1860 census. It appears, however, in Bradford County. In 1870 I came across this entry: Taladay, Solomon Age: 39 Gender: M Race: W Birthplace: PA State: Pennsylvania County: WYOMING Locale: MEHOOPANY TWP Series: M593 Roll: 1467 Part: 1 Page: 64A Image showed: 13/13 Talada, Solomon 39, Blacksmith 100 PA Clarinda 40, Keeping House PA Alice 14 PA Augusta 13 PA F Retta 11 F PA Elmer 9 PA William 6 PA Mary 4 PA Wesley 2 PA I thought it quite a coincidence to have a female named Augusta the same age as your Augustus. I checked out the 1900 census, where Augusta is married with family. 94/96 Talada, Augustus A, born July 1857, 42, married 19 years, Fisherman 6 mos unemployed owned house and had a mortgage. Alice wife, June 1864 36 6 children born, 6 living Lewis H son Aug 1884 15 H(arry?) L, son Aug 1886 13 Ellie or Ettie I, dtr June 1890 9 Mable dtr June 1893 6 Carrie A dtr Nov 1894 5 Lena E dtr Apr 1898 2 Elmer O Brother Mar 1862 38 Widower, Hockster Maggie M niece June 1889 11 Clarinda niece, Sept 1890 9 Mary (D?) niece, May 1896 4 So many coincidences... So I went back to the 1860 and checked out all the Solomon's and found them. It appears that in 1870 census Augustus entry is in error? He was born 1857 in Skinners Eddy or Mahoopany. Would like to find his parents. Father and uncle were in Civil War. Hope to make a trip to the area soon but if any one out there has any information would appreciate it. We know he married a Alace Miller from that area. they were married inSkinners Eddy. ==== PAWYOMIN Mailing List ==== --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
