    1. [PAWYOMIN-L] Reuben Yale

    3. Can anyone identify this man? From his tombstone... d. Feb 27 1894, aged 71 yrs ,3 mos, 19 das. This would give him a birthdate of Nov 3 1822. He served in the Civil War in (Co. A?) 207 PA VOL. Wife is shown only as Sarah, b. Sept 11 1836, d. Sept 5 1902. Reuben and wife are buried in Greenwood Cemetery, (formerly Ross Cemetery) in the Mill City/Falls area, which was a "family cemetery" at the time of their burials. It is my understanding that persons buried there prior to it becoming a public cemetery were all "related" to the Ross family in some way, manner or form. I understand that this is now in Wyoming County, but Wyoming wasn't formed until 1842 and taken from Luzerne County. Any leads will be well appreciated. Most of the old surnames there I can identify but this one stumps me. Sue --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free, easy-to-use web site design software

    3. Sue, One of the best cemetery research tool around for Wyoming County is located at the following address: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~thstiger/GREENWOOD.htm As for your request the people you are looking for, they in GREENWOOD or ROSS CEMETERY ,. Located just .2 mile off Route 307 on Dickinson Road, below Lake Winola, PA. The Tombstone reads " YALE, __________, Died 22 Feb 1894 71y 3m 19d Co. A, 207 PV Civil War; Sarah, h/w, 11 Sept 1836 - 5 Sept 1902". As a matter of information this is the only Yale buried in this cemetery so if they are related to some other family in the cemetery it would be through his wife Sarah.
