    3. Jennifer Errett asked: > Does anyone know the location of the Vose Church or where I can find >records from this church? I believe it to have been located in Washington >Twp. According to the book "Wyoming County: A Look Back," the area in Washington Twp. known as Keiserville (along the Meshoppen Creek and already settled in 1824) became known as Vose sometime after 1866, probably because the Post Office there was located in one of the Vose Mill buildings, a thriving and important grain mill. After the mill and the post office closed, the name reverted back to Keiserville. A Methodist Church was operating by 1880, and there was also a Baptist Church. p.117: "A Free Methodist Church also existed at Keiserville with Rev. H.W. Armstrong conducting services alternating with Russell Hill every two weeks. First Methodist Episcopal Church of Keiserville was completed and dedicated on 20 July 1853... In 1969 the church was demolished and the members transferred their memberships to either Meshoppen or Russell Hill churches." "...Other cemeteries in the township are the Prevost Cemetery on Russell Hill and the Rural Rest and the Keiserville Cemeteries." The Russell Hill Methodist Church is active and located near the corner of Route 6 and Prevost Road. It is now in the same charge as the Meshoppen Methodist, and the pastor is David Hinkley. You should be able to look up the phone number online in a white-pages search. Hope this helps a little with some background, at least. Sorry I couldn't be more specific. I live in Texas now, so this isn't first-hand information (except for the Rev. Hinkley part from my Mom!). Good luck, Janice Fitzgerald McClintock Researching the surnames ROSENGRANT and QUICK in Wyoming County

    3. John C. Williams owned Lake Winola. He brought his new bride here from Philadelphia. I answered some one else's question, and I learned that their daug. Eliza married Isaac Decker born 1820-1822 and that is my gg grandfather. Now I would like to trace Isaac and Eliza back further and to fillin the name of all their children. I have Ann, Jane, Charles, Esther, George, and Frances Amelda (Decker) Avery m. Solomon Avery, Andrew b. abt. 1864, Howard 1869. I know from 1860 and 1870 cebsus that there could be 4 or 5 more. Thanks, Sandra LaCoe
