Hello everyone, I am new to this site and am looking for information about an old graveyard. My gr-grandfather (a widower) and his two small children left St Agnes Cornwall UK in 1867. He settled in Plymouth PA, remarried Eliza Elliott in 1870 and died in a typhoid outbreak in 1871(?), along with daughter Lettie. We have never been able to find his grave and rumor has it a railroad was built through the graveyard and coffins were thrown into the river (Susquehanna?). His name was Alfred Nicholas Houghton. Thanks for any thoughts you might have on this. Charlotte Houghton-Segeti
Tell me what durland you are researching. My grandmother was a durland- she had a brother Archie Durland and 1/2 brother- Denten DeWitt Durland. I have a friend who is researching Coobaugh family- she is not on line- but give me an idea of who in that line and snail address , if you like, I'll have her contact you- - Rose
I'm looking for the descendents of Charles KIRKHUFF & Eliza WELLER KIRKHUFF of Falls Township. Related families include: COOLBAUGH, DURLAND, ARMSTRONG. Charles is the great-grandson of my immigrant ancestor Urban Abraham Kirckhuff, (my 6ggrandfather) who arrived in Philadelphia PA on 27 September 1740 at age 41, aboard the ship "Lydia. Along with some distant Kirkhuff cousins, whom I met on the internet, we are hoping to trace as many descendents of our common ancestor as possible. Who knows, maybe we'll be able to welcome the new millenium with a BIG family reunion! Marj Marjorie Fulmer http://www.libertynet.org/~marj http://www.libertynet.org/~wyoming

Perrin Newberry b. circa 1825 3. Margaret Newberry b. circa 1827 d. circa 1872 married Reuben Parks Question: Who were Mary Chandler's parents. There is some thought that they may have been Benjamin and Mary Chandler but not confirmed. Mary's sister was Elizabeth Betsey Chandler the wife of Philemon Clark. It is noted that Peter Montross' son by Lavinia Newberry was named Philemon Clark Newberry. In your communique you say that Peter Montross had four children plus he raised a step-son of his second wife. I only have 3 children, not counting the step- son. Who was the fourth child. Could it have been John G. Montross who married Sarah (Unknown)? John G. had a son named Clark John Montross who married Minnie Sickler, d/o William and Julia Melissa Clark Sickler (My great grandparents). Would really appreciate family history of the Montross', particularly the descendants of Clark John and Minnie Sickler Montross. Burton H. Sickler [email protected]

I have the book "Montross: a Family History" (J.W. Taylor, 1958) and find the following information: m. 4 Dec 1827 (only 6 months after Lavinia died!) Olive Jackson b. 18 June 1796 in Rutland Co, Vt., dau. of Joseph Jackson (b. 23 April 1769 in Granville, Mass.) and Margaret French, his wife (b. 18 Jan. 1775 in Attleboro, Mass.) (family bible); Olive d. 24 June 1873; bur. Beaumont cem. In the text, it says, "Besides bringing up his own 4 children, Peter also raised his second wife's son Angelo Jackson." So it seems that Olive may have had a first marriage or a child out of wedlock! (since the last name is Jackson? hmmm.) With Olive, he had children William Alonzo Montross b. 4 Jan.1829 and Peter Henry Montross b. 7 Aug. 1832. I can give you more information on these children if you want to trace them. > Great Barrington, Ma married James Besteder,in Northmoreland Twp. Mark > Jackson dob 24 Aug 1810 Great Barrington MA married Katie Newberry, in > Northmoreland Twp. Do you have any information on this Katie Newberry? I wonder if she is the relative of my ancestor Lavinia Newberry. All I have about Lavinia is that she was b. 7 May 1800, dau. of Josiah W. Newberry, m. Peter Montross 24 July 1822, died 1 May 1827. If you have any info on these people I would really appreciate it! Thanks! sincerely, Sarah Montross P.S. If anyone else wants a lookup in the Montross book, let me know ASAP! I have to return the book to my grandmother pretty soon.
