Does anyone know how I can get in touch with someone who handles quereys for the Fall Cemetery??
Can anyone advise who Susanna Hinds mother was? I have her father listed as a Conrad Hinds and unknown, also who/how is she Isaac's half sister.. Isaac Post's mother I have as Elizabeth Daily, said to be sister to my gg grandmother Nellie Eleanor (Helen - maybe) Daily, wife of Jacob Willsey. There is a Eleanor listed in David Daily's will as Eleanor Wickizer. So far, we have been unable to find any Eleanor marrying a f/n/u Wickizer or a male f/n/u Wickizer marrying a Eleanor Daily. Hi Everyone. I am new to the list today. I am trying to find out any information on my great great grandfather and his family. My great great grandfather was John Hancock, born in 1826 or 1827 in Tunkhannock, Penn. I understand that Tunkhannock was part of Luzerne County at the time of his birth but is now part of Wyoming County, so I hope some of you can help me find out some information ot help me to find it. He moved from there first to Iowa, and later in 1853 to San Francisco, California. Family legend tells that he was related in some way to John Hancock (the signer of the Decl. of Ind.) but this may be only myth. A mention of him in a book on the Cleveland Family history (his daughter married a Cleveland), indicates that he was also related to Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock, but this too may just be myth. His wife was Mary Frances Shaen, also from Pennsylvania, but it is unknown if she was from the same area in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately this is all I have been able to find out so far, as most records in San Francisco were destroyed as a result of the 1906 Earthquake. I would like to locate other living descendants and I am attempting to compile the family history and genealogy. I live in Oregon, so my access to Pennsylvania records is very limited. Any information you can find or any suggestions on where I might also look for information on John Hancock and his family would be most sincerely appreciated. Maggie Hall

Just received this notice: In the township of Forkston in 1865, a small group of local residents gathered together to honor their Civil War dead. The monument pictured (in paper) has been standing since that time and those soldiers have been relatively forgotten. Len Pallis would like to honor these men. On November 11, 1998, he will host a recognition ceremony for the families of these soldiers. He needs to find the relatives of these soldiers. The monument is in honor of 18 Civil War soldiers who did not return to their birthplace, and it reads: 'War of 1861-1865'; 'Names of the unreturned soldiers of Forkston Township", and these names are as follows: Porter Somers, Syrel A. Adams, Bennett Kasson, Charles Harris, George and Marvin Robinson, C.W. and John Hitchcock, Lewis Dawson, Warren Harding, William and Alfred Palmer, John Wallace, George Rosengrant, William Mooney, Allen Lott, Fred Bronson, Charles Hunsinger. Please help Len Pallis, Wyoming County Director of Veteran"s Affairs, and Carissa Reilly, of the Wyoming County Conservation district, in their search for the relatives of these lost soldiers. Pallis would like to have as many relatives as possible for this Veteran's Day recognition ceremony, Pallis and Reilly have exhausted all efforts to find the relatives and this is their last hope for discovery, If you are related to any of the above listed persons or if you have information related to this monument, call Carissa at 836-2589 or Len Pallis on Fridays at 836-3200. Thanks, Mary Jean
