Isaac Dull was listed in the 1820, 1830 and 1840 censuses for Windham Twp. John Christian Dull (Isaac's son) is listed in the 1830 and 1840 censuses for Windham Twp. I believe they lived near a place called Doll Mountain. This "mountain" is located on/near the Susquehanna River near Sugar Hollow, Jayne Pond and Grist Flat. It appears to be about 5 miles west of Tunkhanook (Sp?). Isaac and his wife Catharine sold their property, 102 acres, for $1000 to Benjamin Stemples 27 May 1844. Isaac also served as a Capt. in the U.S. army during the War of 1812. Any additional or substatiated information would be greatly appreciated. James Dull [email protected] DULL, CHRISTIANSEN, BRADDON, UTTERMARK P.S. Thanks for the Windham Twp. information. I have the 1800 census for Luzerne Co. if anyone needs a lookup.

Aaron D. Grow owned and operated a sawmill on the little Mehoopany creek just below the present home of Mrs. Sadie Grow. there was a small dam there as as the mill was run by water power. Aaron Grow Jr states there was also a gristmill near this site, run with a water wheel. and that a shaft from it weighing nearly one ton is buried in the creek bed where the old mill once stood, farther downstream was another dam belonging to George Smith who had a small tannery. the vats that held the acid to dip the hides in were 6 to 8 feet across. the tannery was located directly below the home of the late thomas williams. there small dams built to supply the water power to run the mills, were destroyed by the flood of 1869 At one time there was a birch distillery near the mill of Aaron Grow. It was used to make birch oil. the process started by chopping the birch bark into small pieces which were then boiled in a large vat, when finsihed the oil was used for medicinal purposes.
