    1. [PAWYOMIN-L] yet another newbie / my introduction
    2. {hoping this is going to the right places} Just a note of introduction, which is required on other lists I've joined .. Hello all. My name is Betsy and I've recently become interested in tracing my family history. All of my family is from NEPa for the last generation or so, some longer. I'm interested in researching the HEWITT family from Susquehanna county and the AVERY family from Wyoming county. I have quite a bit of information on the HARVEY family of Wyoming county and the STEVENS family of Bradford county. Outside of this genealogy (I always spell that wrong) stuff, I work with computers for a living and with books for fun. I've been transplanted to the Philadelphia area (hence, philly.infi.net) but really Like it here. Hoping there's someone out there listening ... betsy -- +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Let's go kick some Hunney-Buns!! -that little dragon guy in Mulan (*)> <(*)

    2. Alfred D. Joyce
    3. My name is Jamie Joyce and I am new to the list. I am searching for any information on John Atkins/Atkinson b.c1740. From what I understand John and his wife Phoebe and their children Joseph Atkinson, Mary Atkinson, and maybe Richard Atkinson move from Wyoming County along the Susquehanna River to Kershaw Co., S.C. about 1762. What I would like to find out is, who was John Atkins/Atkinsons' parents were and who was Phoebe ?, what was her last name. Johns will was listed as John Atkins. If anyone knows of this family in Pa. I would like to hear from you. Thanks Jamie

    3. Marie, THANK you so much for this information!! I really appreciate it. I have seen that web site of Marshall LAKE's, his line came from NJ long after my LAKE family settled in PA. Could you possibly tell me directions to the cemetery and the LAKE house that you mentioned?? I hope to get to come to PA for a few days this summer and would like to make the most of my time during the trip, so directions would be wonderful. Thanks! There is a Lake geneology on the internet athttp://melake.erols.com/~genealogy/body8.html#1. I found them when looking for Johan Giersbach, one of my immigrant ancestors. Blackwalnut is actually not a town - the address is really Laceyville, R.D.#1. Some of my family still lives there. There actually is an ancient cemetery in Blackwalnut. As a child I used to go there and look at the old grave markers. The Lake house, I believe, is still there. We used to live up the road from it. When I lived there, it was quite run down but still impressive. I believe it has been restored. Since Tunkhannock is the county seat, perhaps the records would be there. The Wyoming County Historical Society is in Tunkhannock. Since they have quite a bit on my family, perhaps you should also look there. Hope this helps, Marie [email protected]
