Apparently there were several families of CRUSANs by time I started researching Sterret William CRUSAN, married to Viola Adessa MOORE, about 1885. Robert Crusan. was born 20 Aug. 1825 and died 31 Aug. 1872. Emily had to have been pregnant or had just delivered a child because on the 1880 census, she had 8 year old Robert and 7 year old Harry Crusan, along with older children. Then there is this: It is probably my Robert, but the birth date is wrong and I'm not sure of Benjamin, unless this was Robert Benjamin. Family Data Collection - Individual Records Record about Robert Crusan Name: Robert Crusan Parents: Benjamin Crusan , Mary Kier Birth Place: PA Birth Date: 1821 Robert had several children. Sterret, Martin, Glenendon, Irvin, Torrance, Ann, Nesbit, Mary, Robert C..(married Emilia E. Knox) and Harry Crusan. Here is his obituary sent by a cousin, Nancy Moore Keir. : "The following was in the Latrobe Bulletin on Saturday, August 8, 1931: William Sterrett Crusan At his home on Fist Avenue, Derry, at 9:40 a.m. yesterday, occurred the death of William Sterrett Crusan. He had suffered two strokes within a week, prior to his death. He was born in Loyalhanna Township on October 4, 1855, s son of Robert and Emily Knox Crusan. He was united in marriage to Miss Viola Moore, and the couple went to housekeeping in Alverton. In 1892 they re-moved to Derry Township and the family has lived in the sector ever since, Mr. Crusan following the occupation of farming. Surviving are his widow, and four daughters: Mrs. Harry S. Boyd, Mrs. Herman Bertsch, Mrs. Guy Drake and Mrs. Frank P. Nicholson, all of Derry. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, survive. Two sisters, Mrs. Albert Seigfried, of Livermore, and Mrs. Alex Long, of Avonmore, and two brothers, N.M. Crusan, of Mt. Pleasant, and R.S. [sic] of Vandergrift also survive. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be held from his late residence on Sunday evening (tomorrow) at 7:30, with his pastor, Rev. W. T. Robinson, in charge. If anyone has them, they would help put the Crusans in the proper families. . CRUSAN, Charles B d 8-13-1898 age 24 years. Crusan was a child of Robert and Emilia E. Knox Crusan. He was born about 1872 in Loyalhanna. He married Minnie M. before 1895. They had children: Lloyd, Samuel, Archie, Letha, and Dorothy. I didn't research any further than the 1920 census. The last child was Harry Crusan. I have nothing more than he was 7 years old on the 1880 census and his mother Emilia Knox Crusan was head of household.
