I copied your information. Apparently there were several families of CRUSANs by time I started researching Sterret William CRUSAN, married to Viola Adessa MOORE, about 1885. Robert Crusan. was born 20 Aug. 1825 and died 31 Aug. 1872. Emily had to have been pregnant or had just delivered a child because on the 1880 census, she had 8 year old Robert and 7 year old Harry Crusan, along with older children. Then there is this: It is probably my Robert, but the birth date is wrong and I'm not sure of Benjamin, unless this was Robert Benjamin. (There are other items, but none name a wife or give the children's names) Brother Irwin was unmarried and lived with his mother Emily at the time of Martin's death. Another brother was Tarrence or Torrence Crusan. He married Louise. had 2 children Ralph and Elizabeth, and lived in Allegheny Co. -- 1910 census. Another brother was C[G]lendenon Crusan. He married Lottie and had children: Clyde, John, Annie, Helen, Hasel, and Emma. In 1920 they were in Burrell, Indiana Co., PA A sister was Ann Crusan, no marriage information available. Another brother was Nesbitt Crusan. Married 7 May 1892 in Westmoreland, Mary Moyemont--children, Bert, Clarence, Ola, Kenneth, and unmarried Madelyn, died 1982 in Westmoreland Sister Mary Crusan And the eldest child, Sterrett William Crusan. Here is his obituary sent by a cousin, Nancy Moore Keir. : "The following was in the Latrobe Bulletin on Saturday, August 8, 1931: William Sterrett Crusan At his home on Fist Avenue, Derry, at 9:40 a.m. yesterday, occurred the death of William Sterrett Crusan. He had suffered two strokes within a week, prior to his death. He was born in Loyalhanna Township on October 4, 1855, s son of Robert and Emily Knox Crusan. He was united in marriage to Miss Viola Moore, and the couple went to housekeeping in Alverton. In 1892 they re-moved to Derry Township and the family has lived in the sector ever since, Mr. Crusan following the occupation of farming. Surviving are his widow, and four daughters: Mrs. Harry S. Boyd, Mrs. Herman Bertsch, Mrs. Guy Drake and Mrs. Frank P. Nicholson, all of Derry. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, survive. Two sisters, Mrs. Albert Seigfried, of Livermore, and Mrs. Alex Long, of Avonmore, and two brothers, N.M. Crusan, of Mt. Pleasant, and R.S. [sic] of Vandergrift also survive. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be held from his late residence on Sunday evening (tomorrow) at 7:30, with his pastor, Rev. W. T. Robinson, in charge.
