Is there an obituary index for newspapers published in 1849? I am looking for an obituary for my ggg-grandfather John Smith (wife Catharine Gooden Smith), whose will was filed in court 11 June 1849. The will was written 13 Feb. 1849. Witnesses were Isaac Hughes and Jacob Smel Sir/Smelser. (I am assuming that the obituary would have been before the 11 June 1849 date, but don't know.
