I have recently became interested in my grandfather's ( William ROLLINSON) involvement in baseball in the Scottdale area during the early 1920's and 1930's. I have obtained two books by Matt Miller, a local author on the subject. My question is does anyone on the list have any information on the Browntown Ball Team? Any pictures of the team, or information on how instrumental they were in helping the Cardinals come to Scottdale? The booklet I have deals with the Scottdale Cardinals. The Scottdale Cardinals were the first Class C Minor League Affilate of the St Louis Cardinals. Some of the players on the Browntown team were: William ROLLINSON, Edward ROLLINSON, Chub KELLY, Barron KELLY, Cy FORTNEY,Frank PETONIC,Leroy HUNKER,Joe KRUGER,George ROTH(RUTH?), Martin PETRICK,Benny BROWN, Bud ENGLISH,Frank PETRICH, Silver LEVINSKI,Doll RUTH, and Paul COLLINS. I have two pictures of the team, one I have is a personal one I inherited from my grandfather, the other is in the booklet "Scottdale Young Cardinals 1925-1931" My grandfather was a member early on and wasn't as involved after 1925, as far as we know.
