Is anyone researching the FERRY (sometimes transcribed as FURRY) families in Westmoreland? I have a FRANK ABRAHAM FERRY who married into one of my lines that I am trying to track down. According to his 1908 marriage license, he was born in Ligonier (does not specify town or township or county) on November 24 1878, and his first marriage (to person unknown) ended on August 19 1906 with the wife's death. His second marriage was to LINDA NEWBURY COLEBOURN. They had a daughter, Eileen, born in 1910. I find the couple living in Allegheny County PA on the 1910 census. Since Linda had remarried by 1919, I was under the assumption that Frank had died; however, I find that Frank filled out a WWI draft registration card in 1917/1918 naming his daughter Eileen as his closest relative. His address is different from that of his daughter's, leading me to wonder if there had been a divorce. And if so, where was Frank in 1920 and 1930 census listings if he had not died? I have searched the 1900, 1920, and 1930 census for almost all possible name combinations and spellings and come up empty each time. Someone who researches the FERRY family that has a three-year-old Frank on the 1880 Westmoreland Co PA census says that that Frank is alive through the 1930s and living in Virginia (posts are on the Genforum genealogy message board), but I haven't been able to find him to compare. Anyone have a FRANK ABRAHAM FERRY who worked for the PA Railroad who might fit the person I'm looking for? _________________________________________________________________ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar get it now! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/
