Dear Barbara, Armstrong County was formed on March 12, 1800. A portion came from Westmoreland County and portions from other counties. Most, but not all came from Allegheny Twp., Westmoreland County, that was formed in 1795 It might be added that Allegheny Twp. is traceable to Armstrong Twp. that is one of the original of the Westmoreland Twps. This may be useful to you in your Laughlin research, depending on when they came in to the area. Ellen
