Mechling Books also sells Pastor Ruff's books. http://www.mechlingbooks.com/bookstore.htm After 1820, the records are seperated by church, so you either have to know the church or you have gamble based on where the family lived. Most of these books can be found in large libraries like the Carnegie main branch in Pittsburgh. If you don't know the church, I would check with local libraries before buying. If you know the church, these books are wonderful. I found a wealth of information in Rev. Ruff's books and well worth the cost of purchasing. I didn't know what church they attended -just knew they lived i n Westmoreland & that they were Lutherans. The books have an index but I found a few mistakes so it is best just to go page by page. I live in MI so libraries here do not have books Georgia Hileman Halloran ----- Original Message ----- From: <hummell@telerama.com> To: <PAWESTMO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 12:10 PM Subject: [PAWESTMO-L] Re: German Church Records > > Mechling Books also sells Pastor Ruff's books. > > http://www.mechlingbooks.com/bookstore.htm > > After 1820, the records are seperated by church, so you either have to > know the > church or you have gamble based on where the family lived.
