Hi, I have seen published in booklet form an early Derry Twp. Tax Record for the year 1786 & the duplicate for the year 1798 but it's the notation at the end of the page that is of real interest. I'm going to state it exactly as it was written & wonder if it is interpreted by anyone on here the same as I do. I already knew about this man & his involvement years ago but never saw this in print. The above was published in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly - Vol. XXIV - September, 1936 in issue # 3. - Total Number 91 - Washington, DC It was also stated at the end of the listing that it would be continued. Note: If the reader desires more of these important Tax Lists, copied from originals preserved by Mr. Jacob Detar and nowhere else available, or before published so far as can be ascertained, please so inform the editor. G. M. B. It looks as though they were in the hands of Mr. Detar at the time. Since the reference is to contact the editor I'm wondering if copies had been made by the NGS & wonder if they would still be available. Up until now we have relied on what the courthouse has & what is in the PA Archives. It was a number of years ago that I recovered about 14 of the original missing books on various counties for the court house. What more does anyone on here know, if anything?
