He was born Sept 25, 1913 in Fairfield Twp. , a son of the late George and Alice (Muir) Henderson. He was a member of First Church of Christ, West Bolivar. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Buckles and Ora Lear; two brothers Clarence and Hilis Henderson a son Jay Henderson and a grandson Keith Hall. He is survived by his wife Marie G. (Slickinger) Henderson; five daughters, Faye Ann Henderson of Dayton, Md., Judy Hall of Johnstown, Sue (Mrs. Ernest) Foster of Bolivar and Gay Lou Fisher and Tracy (Mrs. Jeff) Bealonis both of New Florence, two sons; Barry Henderson of Bolivar and Fritz Henderson of Tolland, Conn. 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister Florence (Mrs. Logan) Decker of New Flornece and two brothers, Boyd Henderson of New Florence and John Henderson of Bolivar. Funeral services were held Friday at First Church of Christ, West Bolivar with the Rev. Richard Lear and Kenneth Neal officiating. Arrangements by J. Paul McCracken Funeral Home, Bolivar. Henderson, 79 of Bolivar RD 1 died Wednesday, May 5, 1993 at Latrobe Area Hospital. Mrs. Henderson was born March 27, 1914 in Latrobe, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Pendexter Shoup. She was a retired nurse's aide at Torrance State Hospital and a member of the Daughters of America of Bolivar. Survivors include four children, Mrs. John (Connie) Beard, Ronald M and Albert R "Dick" all of Bolivar RD 1; and Samuel A. New Florence RD 1; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin M. in 1983; her sisters Helen Shoup and Mary Stiffey; her brothers Harry and Eugene. Services were held Friday at McCracken Funeral home, Bolivar, Rev. Samuel R. Astolos Jr. officiating. (Virginia Margaret) "Marge" Henderson, 76 of Bolivar RD 1 died Friday, Feb. 7, 1997 at Lee Hospital, Johnstown, PA. Mrs. Henderson was born June 24, 1920 in Fairfield Twp., Westmoreland County, daughter of Philip A Short and Hazel Eales Short Overdorff. She was an inspector at the old Trimble Manufacturing in New Florence and Blairsville. She also was a member of the First Church of Christ in West Bolivar. Survivors include four children, Mrs. Grant (Cecelia) Mitchell, Midvale Utah, Mrs. Charles (Darlene) Bartow, Bolivar, Gray L. Bolivar RD 1, and Thomas E. and wife Dora Evansville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; Also surviving is her sister Mrs. Elmer (June) Nixon, Robinson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil W. in 1977; her son Richard Lee; three sisters, Rebecca Howard, Olive Short and Florence McMahon; two brothers, Joseph "Tom" and Harry "Dick". Services were held Monday at McCracken Funeral Home, Bolivar, Rev. Gabriel G. Mraz officiating. Henderson Wesley E. Henderson 77 of New Florence RD 1 died Monday May 1, 1995 at Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born March 26, 1918, in Fairfield Twp., a son of the late Albert and Ida B. (Crusan) Henderson. He was a member of the Community Bible Church; West Bolivar. He was a World War II Veteran. He was a Technical Sergeant; serving in the Rhineland, Northern France and the Battle of the Bulge. He received the Good Conduct Medal, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Expert Infantry Badge, Combat Infntry Badge, Purple Heart, Oat Leaf Cluster, and Bronze Star. He was a life member of the D.A.V., Indiana Chapter, and a member of V.F.W. Post 155, Johnstown and the N.R.A. he is survived by his wife, Sara E. (Garland) Henderson; a son, Timothy E. married to Charlene Bouch of Bolivar RD 1; two grandchildren, Gail and Philip Henderson; a great-grandson, Philip Henderson, and a brother, August Henderson of Bolivar RD 1. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, where services will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Samuel R. Astolos Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Fort Palmer Cemetery. (nee James) wife of the late James B. Hughes, passed away Sunday, November 5, 1959 at Los Angeles, Cal. in her 74th year. Loving mother of Mrs. Hazel Bizorik of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Gertrude Alberoni and John L. Hughes of Los Angeles, Cal.; Frank, Thomas and Roy of Louisville; sister of Mrs. Myrtle Garland and Mrs. Elsie Garland, Louis and Harry James of Bolivar, Penn. Mrs Gertrude Forsha of Blairsville, Penn. and John James of Louisville; also survived by 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral from Dougherty and Son Shawnee Funeral Home, Broadway at 34th Thursday morning, November 9, at 8:30 and in Holy Cross Church at 9 o'clock. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Remains due to arrive in Louisville Wednesday morning at 7:15.
