From Tribune-Review Charles J. Cullen Charles J. Cullen 75, of 2330 Winter Drive, Granite City, Ill. (Formerly of Derry) died Tuesday June 28, 1983 in St. Mary Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Born Feb. 22, 1908 in Derry, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Gertrude Short Cullen. He is survived by his wife, Rowena Cullen; one son, Robert Cullen of Pittsburgh; one brother, Albert J. Cullen of Miami, Fla. and four sisters, Mrs. Regina Flowers of Columbia, S. C., Mrs. Lyola Thomas of Uniontown, Mrs. Thelma Berkmyre of Latrobe and Mrs. Charles (Catherine) Keener of Pittsburgh. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral Home, Derry. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church, derry. Maiers 76 of 8 Anderson St. Latrobe died Tuesday March 6, 1990 in Edgewood Nursing Center, Youngstown, Pa. She was born Aug. 30, 1913 in Hillside, Derry Twp. a daughter of the late William D. and Flora L. Short Jenkins. She was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Jenkins. She is survived by her husband, Sheridan P. Maiers, a daughter Flora Mae Shaffer of Derry; two sisters, Florence Hartman of Blairsville and Mrs. William (Mary) Akins of Hillside; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc. 601 Weldon St. Latrobe, Thursday and Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Regis B. Short; a son, James Short; and a brother, Louis Mainini. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Victoria Albertus Frey of Aliquippa; and two nephews. Friends will be received at the John J. Short 79 of 416 Conrad Court, Latrobe died Friday Jan. 24, 1992, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Aug. 22, 1912 in Armbrust a daughter of the late Autis and Mary Sias Baughman. She is survived by a son, Edward J. Short of Latrobe; three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Louise) Reffo and Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Smith, both of New Derry, and Mrs. Charles (Gail) Moore of Derry; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. ====================================================================== Phillippi Anthony "Tony" Phillippi 25, of New Derry died Sunday July 19, 1987 as the result of an automobile accident in Derry Twp. He was born Dec. 7, 1961 in Latrobe a son of George M. Phillippi of New Derry and Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Allison Phillippi of Derry. He was an employee of Ross Refuse Service, Derry. He was a 1980 graduate of Derry area Senior High School. He was a member and officer of the Derry Ukrainian Society. He was preceded in death by a brother George M. Phillippi II who died in 1975. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann Ross Phillippi; two brothers, Robert A. Phillippi of Roanoke, Va. and Steven of Derry; three sisters, Mrs. John (Kay Ann) Lehman of New Alexandria, Mrs. Larry (Susan) Darazio of Bradenville, and Mary Beth Short of Latrobe. ====================================================================== Short Evelyn Shirey Short, 82 of North Huntingdon, died Friday June 22, 1984 in McKeesport Hospital. She was born June 25, 1901 in Emlenton, Pa., a daughter of the late Henry and Emma Campbell Shirey. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, James A. Short in 1947. She was the last of 13 children of the Shirey Family. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence C Short; and a number of nieces and nephews.
