    3. Thanks to Latrobe Bulletin, and Greensburg Tribune/Review Short Sister Joseph Angela Short, 88, of Assumption Hall, Greensburg, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 1990 in Assumption Hall. She was born May 22, 1901, in Blairsville, a daughter of the late Dennis and Teresa Graff Short. She entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, Dec. 8, 1922. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Seton Hill College and a Master's Degree in Advanced Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh. She also attended Duquesne University, Pittsburgh for certification in library science. She taught mathematics at Johnstown Catholic High School, the former St. Luke's High School in Carnegie, and the former Elizabeth Seton High School in Brookline, for three years, she served as records librarian at Pittsburgh Hospital, which is now part of the Forbes Health System. From 1952-62, she taught math and worked as librarian at the former St. John the Baptist High School, Pittsburgh. From 1962-75, she taught at the former Holy Innocence in Sheridan. She moved to Assumption Hall in 1975. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Short; and two sisters, Teresa Jelley, and Elizabeth Short. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Assumption Hall, Mt. Thor Road, Greensburg, Friday from 1:30 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Assumption Hall Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Moslener as celebrant. Interment will be in the Sisters Cemetery, Seton Hill, Greensburg. Memorials can be made to the Sisters of Charity, Assumption Hall, Greensburg 15601. ====================================================================== Short Luella Jane Short, 63, of Blairsville RD 3 died Friday, May 19, 1989 in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Derry Twp. a daughter of Alberta M. Parks Brewer and the late William C. Brewer. She was employed by Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was a member of the Bradenville Assembly of God Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Scott Short, in 1964. In addition to her mother she is survived by two sons, William C. of Blairsvliie RD 3 and Jerry Roger Short of Derry; five brothers, William C. and Wilbert H. Brewer both of Hillside, Harry F. Brewer of Kinsman, Ohio, Walter J. Brewer of Latrobe and David L. Brewer of Youngstown; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Howard of Bolivar, Mrs. Rachel Picard of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Joseph Carlson of Hillside. Mrs. Robert (Helen) Leccia of Machesneytown, and Mrs. Howard (Nellie) Crites of Warren, Ohio; and five grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral Home, 548 North Chestnut St. Derry, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. David W. Benner officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Hillside. ====================================================================== Anna Elizabeth Short Anna Elizabeth Short 71 of St. Anne's Home for the Elderly Greensburg, (formerly of Blairsville) died March 15, 1982 in St. Anne's Home, Greensburg. She was the daughter of the late Dennis Short and Teresa Graff Short. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Michael F. Hallow Funeral Home, Blairsville. Short Anna Elizabeth Short 71, a resident of St. Anne Home, Greensburg, for the past four years died Monday March 15, 1982. She was born Feb. 2, 1911 in Blairsville, a daughter of the late Dennis H. and Teresa Graff Short. She was a member of SS Simon & Jude Catholic Church, Blairsville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa M. Jelley. She is survived by a sister, Sister Joseph Angela, S. C. of Seton Hill, Greensburg. Friends will be received at the Michael F. Hallow Funeral Home, Blairsville from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A wake service will be held Wednesday evening in the Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in SS Simon & Jude Catholic Church, Blairsville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. ====================================================================== Short Joseph F. Short 80 of 115 E. First Ave. Latrobe died at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, Saturday Feb. 12, 1983. He was born in Derry Twp. Feb. 26, 1902 a son of the late Charles E. and Catherine E. Murphy Short. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Latrobe. He retired in 1963 with 30 years of service from the Edgewater Steel Co. of Oakmont. He was a member of the Sons of Italy, Alexander Street, Latrobe; an honorary member of the Cooperstown Sportsmen's Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude A. Capp Short, June 1964; a daughter, Beatrice A. Ulishney, May 1977; two brothers, Leo and Regis Short, and a sister, Julia Short. He is survived by two sons, John Edward Short, Greensburg, and Charles F. Short, Latrobe ; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Hilda) Polosky, Latrobe, and Mary G. Short, West Bend, Wis. ; four brothers, Gilbert A. Short and Paul A. Short both of Latrobe; John A Short, Hostetter; and Clarence P. Short, Bradenville; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Agnes) Pagnotta, Latrobe RD 4 ; and Mrs. Virgil (Ida) Shirey, Cleveland, Ohio and Mrs. Joseph (Ann) Khal, Blairsville RD 4; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandsons. =====================================================================
