Alfred Skena Murrysville Alfred "Fred" Skena, 76, of Murrysville, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005. He was born March 15, 1929, in Export, a son of the late Peter J. and Victoria (Baldgay) Skena. Fred was a retired employee of the Milligan Brick Co., Harmarville, and was a member of the Italian American Club in Export. He enjoyed hunting and gardening, could fix most anything and he was always concerned about recycling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Raymond, and his twin, Arthur Skena. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Melva (Hall) Skena; and five loving children, Glenn Skena and his wife, Mary, of Murrysville, Sherrill Plank and her husband, David, of Export, Cindy Kepins and her husband, James, of Murrysville, Linda Walker and her husband, James, of Worthington, and Karen Vedera and her husband, David, of Albuquerque, N.M. He will be sadly missed by his 11 grandchildren, Michael Skena, Dennis and Jason Plank, Christina, Julie and! Bethany Kepins, Victoria, Shannon and Hannah Walker and Kelly and Kevin Vedera; and four brothers, George Skena, of Harrison City, Gerald Skena, of Sanford, Fla., and Carl Skena and Clarence "Buck" Skena, both of Murrysville. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the WOLFE-VON GEIS FUNERAL HOME INC., 501 Lincoln Ave., Export, 724-327-1400, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Father Tom Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
