    1. Re: -Williams, Hennesey, Foley, Noonan, Fitgerald, Cummings, Doran and Kennedy
    2. Hi Jo, My Great Grandmother was Mary Hanorah Williams and her parents were David Williams and Ellen Cummings. David was from Tipperary and Ellen was from Waterford Ireland. He was born 11/12/1804 and died 4/5/1883 and she was born (date unk) and died 6/3/1882. Both were Roman Catholic. David came to the US in 1828 and settled in Latrobe, PA. He married Ellen either in the US or in Ireland. I have not been able to determine how they met, or where they married. David left a letter that was handed down to my Aunt. She is now deceased. In the letter, David wrote that: his father was Patrick Williams of Kiltankin, Parish of Templetenny, County Tipperary, Ireland. His paternal grandfather was David Williams and his paternal grandmother was Catherine Hennesey. His paternal great grandfather was Patrick Williams and his great grandmother was Ellen Foley. David Williams indicated that his Mother was Nora Noonan, Parish of Kilbenny, County Limerick, Ireland. His maternal grandfather was Denis Noonan and his maternal grandmother was Mary Fitzgerald. His maternal great grandfather was Timothy Noonan and he did not know who his maternal great grandmother was. He did indicate that both of his great-grandfathers were living at his birth in 1804 and met at his christening by Rev. James Keating, the successor of martyred (in 1766) Father Nicholas Sheehy. I was able to locate a site on the computer of names of people buried in the Kilbeheny Cemetery as seen by a Father Wallace Clare in the 1950's. It is stated that this is also known as Kilbenny which lies 4 miles ENE of Mitcheltown Co., Cork adjoining border with county Limerick. Looking under the listing of people buried there, it appears that there is one grave that matches my information and would appear to be my Great Great Grandfather's-Grandfather David Williams. Under the Williams grave information it states" Here lieth the body of David Williams of Kiltankin who departed Jan. 26, 1811 age 68. Also his wife Catherine Williams, alias Henesey, departed February 1, 1815 age 67 years." I looked through some other grave names listed at this computer site and did see a couple of Fitzgeralds and Noonans that could also be relatives. I wrote to the author of this web site and he encouraged me to write to someone that he thought may be a relative. This person asked me to send him copies of all my information. I included photocopies of my Great Grandparents Mary Hanorah Williams and Patrick Doran. She was perhaps a distant cousin of mine and was going to share the information with the Priest at this Parish of Templetenny, but I never got any response. So, I continue to search the pieces of my Irish roots and hope that one day I will locate someone who knows some of the history about this family. I am also hoping to find out if my GG Grandfather had any sibs. In a will he makes reference to a niece Bridget. I am assuming that this person was in the US, but I do not know if this is so. I hope that you do not mind me copying the Limerick, Waterford and Tipperary sites, but I am anxious to see if there is anyone out there that knows of this family or is related. Thanks. Mary Ellen P.S. Also seeking information on Patrick Doran's parents James Doran and wife, Mary Kennedy Doran from Callows County, Ireland. They settled in Wilmore, Cambria county PA in 1832. I have little information on them.
