Tom, The double date is the notation that is used for dates that fall between January 1 and March 25 in years prior to 1752 when England and the American colonies finally switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. If you go to Family Tree Maker's help menu and search for "Julian", "Gregorian", or "Double Dates", you can get a more detailed explanation.
