    3. I have ancestors buried in Zion Lutheran cemetery whose tombstones were carved by James Gemmell. He did carve his name in corner of the tombstones. I just learned another interesting thing. He carved skull and crossbones on some of the tombstones that look like they were later chiseled off. I'd be grateful if anyone has information about James Gemmell. John Tarr

    3. Bill Plack has done research on Gemmell; some of it was published in WESTMORELAND HISTORY, a publication of the Westm'd. Co. historical soc. [Spring 2007] .
