This is an excellent article and thank you. There is one cemetery in Tipperary, Ireland called Kilbenney Cemetery. It is very old and probably goes back to the 1600's. People are buried on top of each other and when I ask someone from Ireland about my ancestors, he always replies that they are buried on top of each other, but has no idea how many. The cemetery is in very poor condition and needs so much attention like water spigots, raking, mowing and restoration because of the great historical value. American cemeteries are in great shape and they were designed this way. However, they are very expensive and have to be kept-up.
