Lona, I haven't found any Simpsons from Allegheny County in my family tree as yet...not to say that this information may not be useful. As I am still trying to dig up information on my Simpson line (how ironic is it that I can find relatives from the early 1600s for someone else, and after 8 years of work, I still can't find my relatives from 1800?), I will keep this email in a safe place for future reference. And I will keep you posted if I found out anything. Hi Richard, Thanks for responding. I will also keep your info and if I learn anything will let you know. You have a very interesting middle name. Is you line connected to the Civil War Union general? One of my Chaney uncles has that middle name and he was born a few years before the Civil War. Since one of James Simpson's son ahd the middle name of Clelland I thought ya'll may be connected. Greetings, listers... I am working on the far end of some of my STEINER lines, when I discovered a quandary. I have a list from someone that states that Leah Elizabeth STEINER (1857 - 190?) married a George W. MILLER (1858 - ?) and had two daughters, Agnes Adele MILLER and Jennie MILLER. I found a 1900 census entry confirming this, sort of. Miller, Dr. G. W. - Head - Nov 1858 - 42 - M - 6 Miller, Leah E. - Wife - Feb 1858 - 43 - M - 6 - 3 - 3 Miller, Mary S. - Daughter - Nov 1877 - 22 - S - 0 - 0 - 0 Miller, Agnes A. - Daughter - Dec 1880 - 19 - S - 0 - 0 - 0 Miller, Jennie - Daughter - Sep 1882 - 17 - S - 0 - 0 - 0 So I found this family, which looks suspiciously like the one that I need, right? Everything matches until you get to the number of years of present marriage. In this case, it is listed as 6. But the girls are 22, 19, and 17. I looked for a 1880 census for Leah E. STEINER MILLER, but I found the following: FOX, Dewin - W - M - 27 FOX, Leah E. - W - F - 22 FOX, Mary S. - W - F - 2 My question is this. Has anyone more information about this particular FOX family? The neighbors of this FOX family are ROSENSTEEL, BAKER, STEINER, and ERRETT, all of which are related to Leah Elizabeth STEINER in some way or another. Dewin Fox is listed with a spinal disability, if that helps. The lady that I got the STEINER list from responded that the MILLERs were married not in 1894, like the census reports, but in 1881. And Leah Elizabeth STEINER died before the 1910 census was completed, because George W. MILLER was listed as a widow on that census, living with Agnes A. MILLER and her sister Jennie, along with Jennie's husband and two children. I would love to close this line definitively. Any help would be appreciated. Richard
