Hi Rick, The original land in Pennsylvania was gotten by land grants. People who wanted to settle went through a process including a survey and finally a land grant. They could then settle on a piece of property. So these are names of the first to own the land. They may or may not have actually settled in Rostraver Twp. but this gives an idea of who the first settlers probably were. The names are taken from a map of the land.
