The Daily Courier,Tuesday, July 6, 1937 Mount Pleasant July 6 Walter Dean died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday evening at his home in Mount Pleasant township near Southwest. He was 60 years old. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Margaret Hull Dean; six daughters, Mrs. William Boggs, Stewart; Mrs. Conrad Achtzigger, Armbrust; Mrs. Jack Stoner, New Castle; Mrs. Lester Bratshic, New Castle and Doris and Adeline, at home, and six sons, Alvie, Gayville; Edgar, Crows Nest; Thomas, Southwest; John, Gayville, and Robert and Samuel at home. Three sisters, Mrs. Elmer H. Wright of Greensburg, Mrs. George R. Laird of Youngwood and Mrs. Luther Armbrust of Akron, Ohio and 21 grandchildren also survive. Mr. Dean was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Youngwood. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Crows Nest Local 5764. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal Church at Southwest in charge of Rev. Lawrence R. Neff and Rev. Jacob Kooser. Interment will be made in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Middle Churches. Note: Southwest is never called that by locals. Everyone calls it Hecla. Hecla officially became Southwest when Hecla was already taken as a name for a post office. Southwest it may be officially but no one calls it that...it is Hecla to everyone who lives there. Dawne
