In the 1937 obit for Walter Dean recently posted by Dawne, it mentions Crows Nest in a few places. My grandmother was born in Crows Nest abt 1911. I no longer live in PA, but from what I've gathered from afar it sounds like Crows Nest is now Bovard. Does anyone know if this is true? Was there a Catholic Church or cemetery in Crows Nest? Thank you, Mark
Yes, you are right, it was originally called Crows Nest, then around 1914, changed to Bovard, in honor of Harry F Bovard who was president of the Keystone Coal and Coke Company. But the mine their was still called Crows Nest mine. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2008 8:56 PM Subject: [PAWESTMO] Crows Nest > In the 1937 obit for Walter Dean recently posted by Dawne, it mentions > Crows Nest in a few places.
