If you have never been there and don't know their system, I suggest to order them using their website. It would probably take you all day. Also, have you tried footnote.com!!!! I get a lot of my records there for free. You have to sign in to be able to print. I downloaded a copy of pension records for free. There was 75 pages. If you have relatives from PA you can get copy downloaded for free using this sitre for PA archives. DI'm planning a family trip to D.C. soon and am wondering if I could squeeze in time to copy a Civil War pension file while I am there. I have the info from the index on Ancestry.com. But I have never been to NARA before and am not sure of the procedures. How long would it take? How do I go about it? If I could save the $75 and do it myself in a short amount of time, that would be great! Thanks for any help you can give. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
