Once you gign into Footnote.com - go to the left part of the page. You will see Revolutionarey War, Civil War etc. Go to the civil War and click on it. You will have to register for a free 7 day trail to access the files for free and then cancel it. They don't bother you after you cancel it. Once you are in the cilv war file, you can see if your person is in there records. I would ckeck the file before accessing the sign up for the 7 day free trial.
