We really don't match. Mine arrived from Prussia (Germany) sometime between his birth in Feb. 1818 and when I first found Ludwig Shoup with his new bride living in a Derry shantytown next to the PA RR. In the 1860 Ligonier federal census, his wife, two children and a 73 year old man, Henry Shoub, were with him. I assume Henry was Ludwig/Louis' elderly father. Not too far away was a John Shoub with children and a son named Henry. I assume he was Ludwig/Louis Shoup's brother. Lewis/Louis/:Ludwig Shoup/Shoub appeared for the last time in the 1900 census with son William Bell Shoup and wife and 7 children. If there is a relationship, it must be back in Prussia.
