Latrobe Bulletin Friday, April 7, 1937 William B. Shoup William B.Shoup, former Justice of the Peace and road supervisor and a resident of Derry Township for 46 years, died at his home in Snydertown at 2:15 o’clock this morning. Born at West Newton, September 30, 1862. Mr. Shoup was 74 years, seven months, and six days old. Before his retirement he was a fire boss at the Saxman mine for a number of years. Mr. Should was married to Sarah Jane Shaulis, of Jennerstown, at Somerset, on Mary 27, 1887. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary the latter part of the present month. He was a resident of Ligonier for several years and then moved to Derry Township, where he resided at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Sarah Jane Shoup, one daughter, Ann Shoup Lewis and four sons, Louis, Levi, Harry and Lemon. One sister Mrs. Katherine Marsh, of Grapeville, and nine grandchildren and a cousin, Charles Shoup, also survive. Mr. Shoup was the father of the late Earl Shoup, whose death occurred in 1922 and William Shoup who died in 1924. Funeral Services will be held at his late home at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon and Interment will be made at Unity Cemetery. ____________________________________________________________ Note that his obit mentioned a cousin, Charles. This was Dr. Charles Shoup, son of Henry A.
