Thanks for your response, Paul. I am digging around to find the passenger lists for the ships. I have always felt a little disappointed with the passenger lists that I have found as they have been incomplete. The Osgood stated it carried 350 Whole Freights, 500 souls, but the list only showed 135 names. I can understand the first two numbers as women and children were not recorded on the passenger lists. The Osgood list that I have does not show any Rineharts. Christof Niedt arrived aboard the "Osgood" out of Rotterdam and Cowls in 1750. Some where I have a record of Christopher arriving a second time about 1752. Mathias Nied arrived on the ship "Two Brothers" in 1753. Rineharts didn't marry into my family until about the mid 1800s, but I saw their names on the same census lists as my family. Adam G. Rinehart b.6/10/1839 d.12/14/1908 Anna Rinehart b.abt 1872 Barbara C. Rinehart b.11/26/1858 d.12/20/1862 Charles Rinehart b. The 1790 Census for Frederick County in Maryland shows a George Rinehart 1, 2, 5 and Tilty Rinehart 1, 0, 1 on page 196. Another Census for 1790 Frederick County in Maryland shows a David Rinehart 3, 2, 3 on page 58. I stumbled across this article today. I have no idea if this relates to your Rinehart question but I thought I would post it anyway. Glades Star, Vol. 6, pages 197 and 210 "Corrections concerning George Rinehart written by Alice Proudfoot June 1988" Ms. Proudfoot is writng to correct previous published articles concerning the Rinehart line, which she said were in error. Re: George Rinehart and his father Thomas: References to clear up these points can be found in Thomas Rinehart's application for Revolutionary War Pension housed in the National Archives, Washington, D.C. He states that he was born in 1741 in Reading Co., PA and lived during that war at Hagerstown, MD. He further states that he moved to Monongalia Co., VA (now Preston Co., WV) in 1798. George was born during the time his family lived in MD. Records of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vol. II, pp. 14, 17, 32 and Zion Reformed Church pp. 11, 17 in Hagerstown, MD lists births of some of Thomas and Eve Elizabeth (Whitehair) Rinehart's children. Thomas was married the second time to Anna Maria Whitehair and children by this marriage are recorded the Aurora Documents by Karl Gower, records of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aurora, WV. Both of Thomas Rineharts wives were sisters, daughters of John George and Maria Appelonia (Behm) Weishaarin. The will of John George Whitehair is found in Frederick Co., MD, Liber G. M. #2, p. 64. Some of the marriages and death records of this family can be found in "Marriages and Burials in Frederick Co., MD 1743-1811 by Frederick Sheely Weiser. George Rinehart's will can be found in Allegany Co., MD Liber A. Wills 1826-1850, p. 461 dated April 21, 1840. Children named therein are sons, Jonathan, John, David: daughters Eve Elizabeth Scott, Margaret Loar, Sarah Steyer, Susan Taggert, Catherine Boseley and Maria Smouse. Also found there is the firs settlement, Liber B, Administrative Accounts, p. 21, dated June 8, 1841; second and final settlement, same book, p. 53 dated Oct. 12, 1842. Jonathan Rinehart and William Smouse, executors. Linda -- As is often the case, your request brought up more questions on my part than answers. I am interested in your Rinehart relationship in the German migration. Migration in my case came about 30 years earlier (for the Rineharts), that is, moved from Frederick to Hagerstown, then on to northern WV (VA at the time). However, about 1800, a large contingent of people from the Frederick area moved directly to eastern OH. They were joined by my Rineharts who at the time were in Randolph County, VA (WV). In that case, there did not seem to be any specific reason for the move west other than a desire to find more open land. Perhaps Frederick area was becoming too crowded. This group all ended up in Jefferson County, OH. Records for this area at that time are somewhat scarce, but we have been able to trace them through various county records. Re you PA problem, I am sure someone else can help you more, but I had to visit the courthouses and historical groups in Jefferson and Carroll Counties to come up with the information as to where they were. Could not find anything without visiting, but it worked. My single question, just who were these Rineharts? We have a connection problem in the 1740 to 1770 period. Did they come in 1752 with your ancestors, or earlier? Do you have any given names for this family? It might be helpful to explore the names in the Westmoreland Counties online vital records searches. Here's a link: http://westmorelandweb400.us:8088/EGSPublicAccess.htm Jasien is definitely there as is the name Sarco. There might be a name change on record and this family might show up in the same cemetery as the Jasien's. You might also take a look at the 28th Division 5 volume series on my military page: http://military.donslist.net This was a reserve division during WW1 with over 40,000 men from Western PA. If you find someone in there, you're likely to find their picture too. Don Don Krieger - Pittsburgh, PA http://www.DonsList.Net - Always fast. Having a German family that more or less follows your time and migration pattern - Frederick Maryland to SW Pa late 1700's - I found some data in the Pennsylvania Archives tax records. In my case there was also a will and some court records since some of the minor children's inheritance was not handled properly. Anyway the PA Archives are a good source if you know where to look. I will follow up with some volume information unless the cross references for Bedford and surrounding Counties are available on line. Anyone? I don't have anyone by that name in my files. I have been trying to find out more about the James Reed family, as his daughter, Nancy Reed (married William McConnell) was my GGG Grandmother. So far, I haven't had much luck in finding information on her siblings. If I should stumble upon Harry's name in any future research, I will be sure to pass the info onto you. Sharon, Do you know if Harry Ashley Reed (1876-1905) is related to James Reed in your inquiry? Thanks, Tom

Here's another resource: "Westmoreland County e-Services" site. Google that phrase. In the online marriage license section: Amila Jasien to Stanislaw Dzielski Jan 14, 1913 Maciej Jasien to Frances Maleta Jan 24, 1923 Rose M Jasien to John J Suske Jan 18, 1922 Also if you go to the Civil Court section there is a case#01NT10431 dated 2001 ?? for Zigmund Jasien which references his naturalization. That strikes me as unusual, as considering his arrival date, and age, he would most likely have been dead by 2001. I would pursue getting copies of that case file. Jill, go for the free online ones first: try www.findagrave.com, try googleing the Adams Dead-a-Base then I'd try surfing thru the Westmoreland County Genealogy sites since they sometimes have cemetery readings on them. You can try using the "Google News Advanced Archive Search" site (google that phrase) and use "Greensburg" in the last field on the page I believe it is "source" or some such. There are old G-brg papers there. I've used it for Jeannette info. You might want to try the Historic Newspaper Collection within Ancestry.com home subscription (not in Library Edition) and there use the Connellsville Courier or Daily Courier papers. They occasionally carried Westmoreland news articles. I found Scottdale news in those papers. Since these folks looked like they died post-1930 they are most definitely in the PA State Vital Records for Deaths and those are accessed only via inquiries, with $9.00 fee, to the PA Dept of Health in New Castle PA. you can google that link, downloadable forms there with rules of access to help you. Try to find a Mt. Pleasant area Library which may have microfilms for any local newspaper serving that area. Best Wishes for the Easter Holiday, and Happy Hunting Bella Apr 22, 2011 08:56:11 PM, pawestmo@rootsweb.com wrote: RE: Yaisen / Jaisen Thank you to Bella, Helen and Bob for your information. Perhaps your larger libraries, if they don't have it, can get it on an inter-library loan. I have seen this book, and it is a great resource. Additionally there is a photography museum in Pittsburgh on the near Northside, on East Ohio Street. If you do some googling you might be able to find it. They might be of some help in determining the studio that you research. I knew some folks who went there on a field trip and they said it was a hidden gem, not too well known. Hi Tom, Sorry about the difficulty. It is pretty cryptic. And you're right, if you click on the link entitled: "Copy/Paste This Link to Cite This Page" it confuses the picture by placing a new instance of all 3 frames inside the main frame. Here's how to use it. RIGHT click on the "Copy/Paste ..." link and you'll get a menu. One of the choices is "Copy Shortcut" Click on that to copy the link for the page where you are. Now you can paste that link into an email or to the URL bar of another browser window. Placing it into an email is what I mean by "citing the page." I hope that's helpful. I found many relatives listed. FYI, I could not create a link to individual pages. Clicking "Copy/Paste This Link to Cite This Page" didn't change the "url" it only added duplicates for "Search & Page List" and "Search Results & Help" (the blue and pink boxes). You said, " Each page includes a highlighted copy/paste link which you can use for easy online citation." I don't know what you mean. As noted above, I could not copy the page and there definitely was no "online citation"... but I'm not sure what you mean by that.
