    1. John HALL & Elizabeth ??? marriage-late 1700's
    2. Linda J.Walker
    3. Hello List, I am looking for a marriage for John HALL and Elizabeth ??? Their 9 children were born in the late 1700's to the early 1800's. I beleive some were born in the Washington Twp. area of Westmoreland Co., and the rest in the Patton Twp. area of Allegheny Co. Based on that, I think I am looking for a 1780-1790 church marriage in Westmoreland Co., or further east. If anyone has books or other resources for a look-up, I would appreciate it! If you check something and do NOT find a record, could you please email me privately and tell me where/what you checked? That will help me to keep track of where NOT to look in the future. thanks, Linda ljwalker@worthington-pa.us

    3. I descend from Daniel's brother Thomas, m. to Anna Maria Yerian. Their parents were Thomas and Naeima. I have found no documentation that Richard was a brother. I believe, if I remember right, Richard lived in Donegal twp. were as Thomas & Daniel lived in Hempfield. Some of the history books say they were Welsh but this is an error. They were German Lutherans. Rev. Paul ruff has several baptisms listed of both families. Gbg. Historical society has a book on the Hawk family that gives a nice history of the Williams. Also look in Yerian file. I am traveling for the winter and do not have my Williams files with me but if you contact me after April 15th or there about I can share more info. gshalloran@prodigy.net Georgia Hileman Halloran

    2. Sharon, Every cemetery is slightly different. One I have been to listed the date of burial, age, cause of death, lot number, etc. Other just list who is buried in the plot. Some I have seen shows who owned the plot, date of burial and age, and even a "map" of the plot and who is buried in which. This was helpful when the stones were so old to have no writing discernible any longer. I have to say in each instance, no matter what data was available, I was able to glean something from the records I didn't have before. Good Luck! 3. The cemetery folks sent me the original contract for the burial plots which showed all the parents and children's names. It also showed who was maintaining the lots and I found a cousin who still lived in the town where my ancestors lived and are buried. It took a lot of persistence, but it was worth it. -------Original Message------- From: michaeljohnston1@comcast.net Date: 03/15/05 09:35:05 To: PAWESTMO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PAWESTMO-L] cemetery records Sharon, Every cemetery is slightly different. The online death extracts for New Salem Presbyterian Church (December 1849-April 1875) www.pa-roots.com/~westmoreland/townships/salem/newsalempres.html shows my Daniel and Isabella McQUAIDE, deaths 1858 and 1866. Does this church still exist? Does it have a cemetery? And, can someone give me directions to this church and cemetery? thanks, Linda
